Founded in 1962, Shandong Shiheng Power Plant has 2,309 working staffs, covers an area of 3,350,000 square meters and owns the fixed assets of 5800 million yuan, which belongs to a super-huge national Sino-foreign joint venture.

The Plant has total installed capacity of 1,200MW, and four 300MW generating sets operated at present will be built up in two stages. Two generating sets in the first stage went into operation and generated electricity in 1987 and 1988 separately. And two generating sets in the second stage went into operation and generated electricity in May 1997 and November 1997 separately. In 1997, Shandong Zhonghua Power Co., Ltd was jointly set up by Shandong Electric (Group) Company, Hongkong Zhonghua Electric Power Company, France Electric Power Company and Shandong International Trust Investment Corporation, among which, Shiheng Power Plant is the running factory of Shandong Zhonghua Power Co., Ltd.
