Chestnut of Mount Taishan is yielded in Mount Taishan and Zulai Mountain. It has various breed of BoKe (thin shell), JianPeng (cocoon-shaped canopy), HongLi (red shell), WuHua (without blossom), and SongZaoSheng (ripe earlier). This chestnut is equally in size, bright in color and with thin shell. The fruit is of less moisture so that it is more sticky and fragrant in taste. The chestnut is nutritious and tonic, containing below nutrient contents in each 100 gram: 0.24g Vitamin A, 0.19g Vitamin B1, 0.13g Vitamin B2, 1.2g Vitamin C, 1.2g organic acid, 1.2mg nickle acid, 4.8g protein, 4.4g sugar, 1.5g fattiness, 1.2g thick fibre, 15mg calcium, 81mg phosphor, 1.7mg Kalium, 209 therm caloric. It is always delicious whatever it is uncooked, boiled or sauted to eat. Sauted chestnut with sugar is a famous traditional snack. Besides, chestnut could be made into chestnut cake and chestnut cookie.
