Polygonum multiflorum, also called maltiflower knotweed，tuber fleeceflower，chinese knotweed or flowery knotweed, is the root of Cynanchum bungei decneone, which is bitter in taste and cold in nature. It is one of four famous herbal medicines in Mount Taishan, mainly grows in braes and crevices. It contains lecithin and anthraquinone, and helps to detoxify, defecate, keep healthy, reduce cholesterin, invigorate the kidney, black the hair and enrich the blood. Its caudex could soothe nerves and symptom of insomnia.
