There are 6 ancient cypresses inside the Courtyard of Cypresses of the Han Dynasty in Dai Temple. It is said that Han Wudi, the emperor of the Han Dynasty, planted them himself when he came to Mount Taishan to hold monarchal sacrifice ceremony. Now the 6 cypresses are respectively named "the Green Shadow of Cypress of Han Dynasty", "the Legendary Small Dragon with Horns Blowing", "the Chimei Army Axe Trace", "Holding Seals and Being the Marquis", "Holding Head High beyond the Highest Heaven" and "the Cypress Standing against the clod". Among them, "the Cypress Standing against the clod" is 11.5 meters in height, 3.4 meters in circumference. The width of the tree-crown is 10.2 meters from east to west and 7.5 meters from north to south. It previously had double trunks. The western trunk was burnt in the center and died many years ago. But the eastern trunk, relying on indomitable vitality, survived by the 32-meter-wide bark transporting nutrients. Now nearly 300 years have passed, it is still living like it used to be, and gains the reverence of people increasingly.
