There is a passage connecting the Ren'an Gate (Gate of Benevolence and Peace) with the Peitian Gate. In front of the gate are two stone carved lions. In spring, oriental cherry trees are in full bloom besides a lotus pond. The scenery adds an amenity to the sightseeing.
