In Mount Taishan, there are three most important temples of Goddess Bixia, which are distinguished by the different altitudes of their locations. Lingying Palace which is to the east of Haoli Mountain is the lowest temple, Goddess Bixia Taoist Temple of South Heavenly Gate Scenic Area is the highest Temple, and Red Gate Palace in the Red Gate Scenic Area is the middle temple. The name Red Gate comes from the outcropping red rock which resembles a door. The east courtyard of the palace contains a statue of Amitabha and the west contains a statue of the Goddess Bixia of Mount Taishan. Daoism and Buddhism coexist harmoniously here.
