Greeting Guest Pine stands at the eastern side of Lanzhu Mountain, growing at an elevation of 900 meters. It grows along the precipitous cliff and the trunk leans forward, with roots going deep into the crevices so as to grasp the bare rocks. The long branches stretch out as if the pine tree is giving regards and waves to visitors. Yang Xin, professor of aesthetics in Peking University once wrote a poem "Ode to Mount Taishan". In the ode, he describes the apt relationship between the pine tree and Mount Taishan. Greeting Guest Pine has been the symbol of friendly Mount Taishan.
