Jade Emperor is in charge of Heaven in the Taoism. Jade Emperor Peak is the highest peak of Mount Taishan. On the peak, Jade Emperor Temple was built in 1483. In the courtyard of the temple, there is a stone marking Jade Emperor Peak as the highest peak of Mount Taishan and its altitude of 1545 meters. On the northwest corner is the stele with the inscription of Ancient Sacrifice Terrace. It is the site where the ancient emperors set up altars and held sacrifice ceremonies.
