
Tomb of Feng Yuxiang is connected with Tianwaicun Square by Dazong Bridge. Feng Yuxiang (1882-1948) is a famous patriotic military. He lived in Tai’an from 1932 and 1935.
After he died in a shipwreck in 1948, the CPC Central Committee decided to build a tomb for him at the base of the mountain. His skeleton was put in the tomb in 1953. The 66 steps of four flights symbolize 66 years of his life and four phases in his life. His portrait and his poem named Me are sculptured on his tombstone.
