Tai'an is the significant communication hub in East China and the highway and railway extend in all directions. The Beijing-Shanghai Railway goes across the city. The Beijing-Fuzhou Expressway and Beijing-Shanghai Expressway meet in Tai'an. Mount Taishan Station, one of the 21 stations of the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway that is being built, is confirmed to set up in Tai'an. Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport is about 50 minutes' drive to Tai'an. Relying on the well-developed transportation system, it is within 4 hours to the important ports such as Qingdao, Rizhao, Lianyungang; it is within 6 hours to the important domestic cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Nanjing, Zhengzhou by expressway; and it is 1 hour to Seoul of S.Korea and 2 hours to Tokyo of Japan by air.
